On the back is an inscription.
In Florence, Francesco Vinea attended Professor Enrico Pollastrini’s (1817-1876) classes at the Academy of Fine Arts.
Not in the least influenced by his past academic studies, he immediately revealed an extraordinary ability for genre and costume subjects (of the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries) executed with graceful colors and executing subjects that met the public’s taste.
His early Interiors made a fortune: dealers in Paris and London competed for them and gave young Francis new commissions.
He became rich, spending much of his wealth on tapestries, carpets, precious skins, musical instruments, furniture, weapons and bronzes.
