These were the years of reflux, of disengagement, of the exit from politics and the entry into discos. Design was dominated by the Memphis group, an association of designers founded in 1981 by Michele De Lucchi (Ferrara 1951) ed Ettore Sottsass (Innsbruck 1917 – Milan 2007) from the ashes of Alchimia and Radical Design of the previous decade.
