Description

Marbled glass vase, Arte Murano, Missoni

In an interview given years ago, the famous fashion designer Ottavio Missoni said: “Color is an essential part of my DNA. From Dalmatia and Ragusa, I brought with me the blues that bear the scent of the seas, and the orange-reds of Adriatic sunsets, and the warm mottled yellows with ocher and brown that tell of rocks and sands that the waves lap, mix up, and erode away. There are many blacks mixing together. And then purple, my favorite color, in all its hues. If you look closely it is always there, even if you don’t see it at first glance.” These are, indeed, the very colors used for this vase.
