Description

Carol Rama (Turin, 1918–2015) was a central and innovative figure in the Turin art scene.

Concrete Art Movement (MAC)

In the 1950s, she was initially linked to the Concrete Art Movement (MAC), but her artistic research quickly went “beyond” the canons of that period.

Bricolages

Her evolution led her towards a profound and personal exploration of materials, culminating in her famous Bricolages. In these works, Rama transforms “doll’s eyes, syringes, caps, and worn objects” into “new visual alphabets.” This choice is not merely aesthetic, but deeply narrative and evocative.
