Description

This beautiful, important painting represents the best of the Tuscan school during the Renaissance, depicting the patron saints of Florence.

The colorful atmosphere, golden background, and clothes that are sober and sumptuous at once, show the best of the International Gothic movement.

Prof. Claudio Strinati attributed it to Smeraldo di Giovanni (1365–1444) who was active in Florence in the 15th century.

We also owe this artist the frescoes of the Cappelli degli Scali in the church of Santa Trinità in Florence, in collaboration with Giovanni dal Ponte.

Technical information prepared by Prof. Strinati is available on request.
