Description

On the back of the painting on cardboard by Bertina Lopes is a dedication by the artist written in black felt-tip pen to the recipient of the work:

Title: Life has many paths, but do you know yours? with affection Bertina (Mama B) Rome, 29/9/2001

Studying the composition of Bertina Lopes’ work, one perceives in the sometimes psychedelic and kaleidoscopic splashes of colour the strength of her joy of living and improving the world.

Another of her prerogatives is the use of ‘banal’ and everyday materials to decorate and give strength to her work.

His imagination knows no bounds: felts that magically and poetically become Christmas decorations, stars rising from gold paper as in the work on black paper. In this work, gilded metal washers from a toolbox end up jumping onto the artwork.
