Around 1930, Thomas Hutchinson Peddie returned to Scotland to continue his work as a painter and muralist. He took up residence at 22 King Street, Perth, then at 3A Charlotte Street, Perth.
Tom Hutchinson Peddie’s major works include the murals of the Atholl Crescent Masonic Lodge in Perth, Scotland;
the murals on the “Queen Mary” and the mural of Mary Queen of Scots’ entrance to Aberdeen in the dining room of the renovated Douglas Hotel, Aberdeen, painted in 1937.
He was also commissioned to paint ten pictures for the dining room of the Gordon Hotel, Kingussie, Invernesshire, which he completed between 1936 and 1938.
Three more of his paintings are owned by Perth and Kinross Council.
