Description

Moritz von Schwind was an Austrian painter who was born in Vienna. Schwind’s genius was lyrical, and he drew inspiration from chivalry, folklore, and folk songs.

Romantic romances were often a source of inspiration for his talent, manifested in the “Honeymoon” (Die Hochzeitsreise) 1850-52.

The original, purchased by Adolf Friedrich Graf von Schack in 1869, is in the Gemäldegalerie der Sammlung Schack in Munich.
