Signed Giuseppe Solenghi (Milan 1878- Cernobbio 1944).
The brumist (in Milanese dialect El Brumista), was the carriage driver, a trade that disappeared in the late 1930s. The name derives from Lord Brougham, who had an enclosed carriage with driver made for his personal use. Brum in Milanese dialect, was the lamp placed on the carriages to illuminate the street.
