In the background is the imposing Castel Sant’Elmo and Vesuvio.ย  The scene is enveloped in a light blue mist, while the sky opens up in delicate tones of blue and white.

Girolamo Gianni

Girolamo Gianni, an artist born in Naples in 1837 and died in Malta in 1896.
His production is characterized by urban and marine views, often animated by characters that enliven the scene, created mainly with watercolor and gouache techniques.
After more than twenty years spent in Malta, Girolamo Gianni continued to passionately represent the subjects of his origins, alternating views of Naples, Capri and Malta.
