The child in the foreground is Miriam Mafai, the eldest daughter of Mario Mafai and Antonietta Raphaël.
While living in London, Antonietta Raphael graduated as a pianist from the Royal Academy.
She was convinced the piano would be her life, but unfortunately a mental block prevented her from playing in public.
Antonietta continued to play 3-4 hours a day and taught piano to her daughters.
The only one who reached a decent level was the eldest, Miriam.
The woman in the pink dress is Antonietta Raphael, standing priest-like with her hands raised as if to mark time. The girl plays music by Scarlatti.
What about the woman behind them? She was a model who had finished posing for Mafai and was getting dressed.
