Hermès Takes Flight: The Worlds of Leïla Menchari
These ambiences are really pretty, aren’t they? I can assure you that they are even nicer in real life.
December has begun. Christmas is approaching. The Champs-Élysées are glowing with that festive look that makes them so unique during this season.
It is right here at the Grand Palais, just a few steps from the l’Avenue plus belle du monde, as the French refer to the Champs with their proverbial modesty, that the beautiful exhibition Hermès à tire d’aile (Hermès takes flight: Leïla Menchari worlds) take place.
At the historical Hermès boutique in Rue Faubourg Saint Honoré in Paris, Tunisian born designer Leïla Menchari showcases some of the most stunning Hermès window displays. The title of the exhibition is inspired by one of Menchari’s gorgeous creations: Hermès iconic winged foot presented in giant lacquered white wood and right in the moment of taking flight.
Flying to unknown destinations while carrying unknown messages…because, as you know, Hermès or Mercury for the Latins, was the messenger of the Gods.
