The Pipistrello table light was created in the mid-1960s and achieved considerable success. It acquired immediate status as a fashionable item to set in a contemporary interior and featured in countless chic living rooms in Milan, Paris, London and elsewhere through the late 1960s and 1970s.The name refers to the batwing outline of the segmented opaline acrylic shade. The flared metal base incorporates a telescopic steel stem, allowing the light to be lowered or raised and hence positioned either on furniture or the floor.
