In the 1950s, 60s and 70s, French design produced true furniture icons.
Here are just a few representative names: the Le Corbusier family Pierre Jeanneret (Geneva 1896 – 1967) and Charlotte Perriand (Paris 1903 – 1999), Pierre Guariche (Paris 1926 – 1995), André Sornay (Lyon 1902 – Vichy 2000), Bernard Albin Gras (Saint-Raphaël 1920-1943).
The armchairs by Pierre Paulin (Paris 1927-Montpellier 2009), the low tables by Pierre Chapo (Paris 1927- Gordes 1987) and Roger Capron (Vicennes 1922 – 2006), the Ours sofas by Jean Royère (Paris 1902- United States 1981) and the bronze animals by the Lalanne couple: François-Xavier Lalanne (Agen 1927-2008) and Claude Lalanne (Paris 1924-Fontainebleau 2019).
