Giovanni Stradone
Giovanni Stradone Italian painter (Nola 1911-Rome 1981)
At a young age, he spent time in Ferruccio Ferrazzi’s studio while also studying entomology.
After his debut as a painter with works in line with the Tonalists, he paid particular attention to the Expressionism of Mario Mafai, Giovanni Omiccioli, Corrado Cagli, and especially Scipione.
His public debut in the Prelittorial exhibition was in 1935 and then he exhibited in 1939 at the Galleria delle Terme.
His artistic creativity reached a peak in the 1940s with a series of drawings closely tied to this traumatic moment in history.
He took part in the Venice Biennale in 1948, 1950, and 1954.
He then brought Expressionism to its furthest point, almost to Informalism.
