Tsai Hsia-Ling (蔡遐齢) est né en 1936 en Chine.

Il fait partie du groupe Ton-Fan, un mouvement d’artistes précurseurs de l’art abstrait en Chine, en Europe et aux États-Unis, également connu sous le nom de Société de Peinture de l’Orient. Un mouvement artistique d’avant-garde taïwanais fondé en 1956 à Taipei. La création de ce groupe a joué un rôle important dans le développement de l’art taïwanais et dans l’histoire de l’art chinois du XXe siècle.

Avec Hsiao Chin, Tsai Hsia-Ling a été le premier artiste chinois à travailler également en Italie après la Seconde Guerre mondiale. On ne sait pas grand-chose de l’histoire récente de cet artiste et ses œuvres sont difficiles à trouver sur le marché.
