As the title says it, the curators gamble was to find out in the last Claude Monet<\/strong>\u2019s works a link with the post-war American<\/strong> abstraction and we can say the challenge was met.<\/p>\n

As a matter of fact, in this exhibition we can admire several impressionist paintings, which were used as a link between the last achievements of the classic art and the one which will become the most absolute abstract art.
\nThe Action painting<\/strong> indeed, like the whole post-war American art, produced a real earthquake for us Europeans tired and hard-hit not just artistically speaking.
\nWillem de Kooning<\/strong>\u2019s (1904-1997),\u00a0 Jackson Pollock\u2019<\/strong>s (1912-1956), Mark Rothko<\/strong>\u2019s (1903-1970), Sam Fracis<\/strong>‘s (1923-1994), Philip Guston<\/strong>‘s (1913-1980) artistic language was a real shock.<\/p>\n
