Raffaello Sernesi<\/strong> (Florence, 1838 – Bolzano, 1866). Florentine Macchiaioli painter.<\/p>\n In 1856 he enrolled at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence, taking Antonio Ciseri’s courses until 1859, when he interrupted his studies due to the death of his father.<\/p>\n He copied the masters of the 15th century and executed portraits.<\/p>\n Telemaco Signorini introduced him to the Macchiaioli group. He frequented the Caff\u00e9 Michelangiolo and as early as 1860 produced works that showed a complete assimilation of the experiences that Telemaco Signorini, Cristiano Banti, Vincenzo Cabianca, Odoardo Borrani and Stanislao Pointeau had made in Montelupo and La Spezia.<\/p>\n In 1861 he exhibited at the Promotrice and painted from life, together with Borrani, in San Marcello Pistoiese.<\/p>\n Stanislao Pointeau in 1862 returned to the Promotrice and traveled to Naples and Ischia to meet Pointeau, watching with interest the painting of Filippo Palizzi.<\/p>\n With Silvestro Lega, Borrani, Abbati and Signorini he began to paint in the Piagentina area.<\/p>\n In 1864 he was a guest of D.
