Tom\u00e1s Mart\u00edn Rebollo<\/strong>
\nTom\u00e1s Mart\u00edn Rebollo was an artist born in Granada, Spain in 1858 and died in Madrid in 1919.
\nHe trained in Granada with Spanish painter Juli\u00e1n Sanz del Valle, whose style he followed strictly and faithfully during his early years.<\/p>\n

From 1883 he studied at the Special School of Painting, Sculpture and Engraving of the Academy of San Fernando in Madrid, where he specialized in landscape painting.
\nDuring his stay in Madrid one can see the profound imprint that Mariano Fortuny left on his style.
\nThis artistic evolution led him to participate in several national exhibitions of fine arts; in the one of 1881 he presented two watercolors entitled Recuerdos de Granada (\u201cMemories of Granada\u201d) and in the one of 1908 he received an honorable mention.
\nHe received two silver medals at provincial exhibitions.<\/p>\n

The Roman Period<\/h2>\n

In January 1912 he obtained a pension from the Granada Provincial Council to live in Rome and perfect his techniques and skills as a landscape painter. In that year he traveled throughout Italy, painting popular scenes and landscape views and views of various cities with their busy lives. A good example of his technical skill is a Veduta di Roma, signed but undated, which the Museo del Prado has deposited in the Museo de Bellas Artes in Badajoz.
\nUpon his return from Italy in May of that year, he exhibited the results of his work at the Sal\u00f3n Iturrioz in Madrid with considerable success.<\/p>\n

It is known that he specialized in watercolors and oil landscapes, as well as numerous commissioned portraits, such as that of Alfonso XIII, painted in 1915 for the Directorate General of Fine Arts and donated by Mariano Benlliure to the Royal Academy of History .
\nHe died in Madrid on February 8, 1919.<\/p>\n
