{"id":101119,"date":"2021-07-05T12:51:26","date_gmt":"2021-07-05T11:51:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/egidimadeinitaly.demonewlogic.it\/artisti\/pio-manzu\/"},"modified":"2025-03-02T09:44:03","modified_gmt":"2025-03-02T08:44:03","slug":"pio-manzu","status":"publish","type":"artisti","link":"https:\/\/egidimadeinitaly.com\/en\/artisti\/pio-manzu\/","title":{"rendered":"Pio Manz\u00f9"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Pio Manz\u00f9<\/strong> (1939\u20131969) was born in Milan in 1939.<\/p>\n<p>He was the first Italian to graduate from the <strong>Hochschule f\u00fcr Gestaltung in Ulm<\/strong>, the leading school for industrial design from the mid-1950s throughout the 1960s.<\/p>\n<p>It was there that Manz\u00f9 discovered his passion for designing car engines. This then led him to design models for small and medium cylinder cars, and then he joined the <strong>Fiat<\/strong><strong> Style Center<\/strong><strong> as a consultant<\/strong> in 1967.<\/p>\n<p>Fiat had previously not been especially open to outside cultural contributions, but he was brought in by <strong>Dante Giacosa<\/strong> who immediately put his faith in him and let him design and experiment freely.<\/p>\n<p>For Fiat, he designed the <strong>City Taxi and the Autobianchi Coup\u00e9<\/strong>, both exhibited at the Turin Motor Show.<\/p>\n<p>In 1966, he designed the <strong>Cronotime<\/strong>, one of his last designs before his premature death in a car accident in 1969.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pio is the son of the famous sculptor Giacomo Manz\u00f9 (1908\u20131991)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":84618,"parent":0,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"tags":[6509],"class_list":["post-101119","artisti","type-artisti","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","tags-m"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v27.5 (Yoast SEO v27.5) - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-premium-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>Pio Manz\u00f9 - Egidi MadeinItaly<\/title>\n<meta name=\"description\" content=\"The short but very intense biography of Pio Manz\u00f9, son of the famous Giacomo Manz\u00f9.
