Wei Tuo Pusa is also known as the Hindu bodhisattva Skanda, is one of the eight deities that protects the principles of Buddhism This carved wooden figure surface is recovered of red pigment, lacquer and gilding. Carved wooden figure, represents the Buddhist deity Wei Tuo Pusa One of the eight divine protectors in Chinese Buddhism. Iconographically, he appears as a majestic, mighty general proudly portrayed in his armor. And not by chance; in fact, as Chinese theology illustrates,before entering Nirvana Buddha ordered our general, who remained in this world, to protect the Buddha Dharma. After Buddha's death, the relics were robbed by evil demons, but it was our bodhisattva Wei Tuo, who managed to defeat the demons and recover the relics of the Buddha.
