Sacred ibis bronze sculpture
Art Deco Lamp
Sculpture bronze depicting a sacred ibis. Beautiful, elegant French sculpture in pure Art Deco style. Made around the 1930s, it is an excellent example of the Asian-inspired style that was in great fashion in Europe in the late 19th century and early 20th century.
Description
Made entirely in bronze, it has been turned into a lamp. It has a lampshade in fine fabric of yellow-gold hues that fits in perfect harmony with the intense refinement of this magnificent decoration.
The condition, the style, and especially the exceptional quality of its chiseling let us attribute this beautiful piece to the great Art Deco French bronze sculptor Charles-Joseph Artus (1897-1978).
