Description

This captivating Italian Carrara marble bust, depicts the iconic classic sculpture Venus of Milo. The high quality of this marble required the excellent carving skills of the artist Guglielmo Pugi, a prominent Italian artist. His studio was in Florence were he worked with his sons Gino e Florenzo. He exhibited several works in the World Fairs at the turn of the century and he  was very celebrated  in France, in the UK  and also in the US. The sculpture is signed Pugi on the  back Italian white marble signed Pugi He exposed  his works  at the 1901 World Fair in Buffalo and many of their sculptures are still there.
