Giovanni Varlese Young Boy Bronze Sculpture

Bronze sculpture on marble base, engraved signature at the base.

The young fisherman is nude except for a loincloth tied around his hips, covering his privates.

He is wearing a large hat shading him from the sun. His face is cheerful and smiling. He proudly holds the day’s catch to his chest: a beautiful, still living fish. The fisherman is standing on a rock. Next to his feet are a fishing basket and a live crab. The artist’s signature is engraved on the same rock.
