Description

Francesco Guardi was probably one of the most important Italian painters of the end of 18th century during the era of the Grand Tour.
He specialized in paintings views of  Venice ‘vedutismo veneziano’ and was famous for his suggestives images of the ” Serenissima“.

This is a very nice example of this tradition that continued throughout  the 18th  century.

Part of the Grand Tour of the offspring of the most  prestigious English, French and German families  was spotting the most beautiful  views of the Serenissima.
