Description

In the classic, ultra-realistic style of the painter, in the foreground it depicts a hand holding a light bulb. An ingenious effect is made by the reflection, in a kind of anamorphosis, reflecting the artist almost like a self-portrait, a dazzling effect like that of The Arnolfini Portrait, the famous painting by the Flemish painter Jan van Eyck. Our painting dates to 1976, an especially rare period on the market, and comes with a certificate of authenticity issued directly by the Ventrone Archive. The work has been authenticated directly by the artist and cataloged in the Ventrone Archive under the number 003_1976. Inscription on the back of the painting “L. VENTRONE '76 Il giorno che afferra la luce [The day that catches the light] The latest exhibition of the artist: “Luciano Ventrone: The Great Illusion” at the MART in Rovereto, which Vittorio Sgarbi and Lorenzo Zichichi conceived as part of the exhibition “Caravaggio: The Contemporary”
