The unmistakable skyline of the Eternal City is in the background but still a star of the scene. The dome of St. Peter's stands out in the distance along with the peerless light of the sky above Rome. Our painting can be attributed with confidence to the Van Lint circle. Our painter is part of the Flemish school active in Rome in the mid-eighteenth century . The painting, which has recently been repaired, is in virtually perfect condition. It is finished with a golden wooden frame.
