Silvestro Lega is one of the leading exponents of the Florentine Macchiaioli movement along with Giovanni Fattori and Telemaco Signorini. The characteristic of the Macchiaioli was that they worked in the open air using sunlight as a contrast.

Silvestro Lega (Modigliana, 1826 - Florence, 1895). The work comes from a private collection and is an unpublished work on the market. His works are exhibited of major Italian museums and in private collections.
