Oil on canvas in excellent conditions excepted an ancient visible repair on the back.
The original frame in plaster and golden wood, from the mid-19th century, is in excellent condition too.
Many details, like the the figure’s clothing, the Eastern architecture, and the general Orientalist setting,
suggest this painting as set in Istanbul based.
We can identify Eastern architecture on the left as the Sultan Ahmed III fountain, from the Imperial Gate of the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul.
It was completed by Ahmed III in the 18th-century in Turkish rococo style called “Tulip style”.
