Mary is portrayed as a young woman who already wears a saintly halo while keeping her gaze lowered. A semi-sheer veil protects her hair and surrounds her beautiful face with its thoughtful yet calm expression. The Virgin Mary's gentle posture evokes the purest expressions of proto-Renaissance Tuscan painting, and her sweet expression strongly recalls the work of 15th-century Florentine masters. The painting is immediately recognisable thanks to its language very close to that of Alessandro Filipepi, also known as Sandro Botticelli. An exhaustive conservative restoration was conducted to preserve the painting's overall originality, especially the part of her face that remains practically intact. A technical data sheet produced by the restoration studio — one of the best in Italy — is available upon request. Housed in a beautiful  hand carved giltwood Italian frame gilded with gold leaves from 19th-century. This artwork is shipped from Rome. Under existing legislation, any artwork in Italy created over 70 years ago by an artist who has died requires a license for export regardless of the work’s market price. The shipping may require additional handling days to require the license according to the destination of the artwork.
