Space Age is a style originating in the late 1960s. The love for space-inspired styles spread to every area of life, including film (remember 2001: A Space Odyssey by Stanley Kubrik?), fashion and, most importantly, design. The shapes of furniture become those of missiles, spaceships, stars, and satellites. The lines are rounded, elongated, and spherical. The predominant colors are white and silver. This style was widely used in lighting, especially in floor lamps, table lamps, and ceiling lamps with elongated shapes. In seating, we have oval-shaped armchairs, usually in fiberglass and other materials.
