Vincenzo Volpe
Vincenzo Volpe, (Grottaminarda, 1855–Naples, 1929) was an excellent maker of genre paintings. He was a student of Domenico Morelli, at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples.
Exhibitions:
In the 1877 exhibition in Naples, he showed a beautiful painting called Un’ interruzione piacevole (A Pleasant Interruption); in Milan, in 1883: Orazione [Oration]; Accordo difficile [Difficult Agreement], Restauro [Restoration] and Prova [Trial], four excellent paintings; in Rome, also in 1883, he showed Canzone allegra [Cheerful song].
In 1884, in Turin, he showed Nello studio [In the Studio]; in Venice, in 1887, he showed Una partita d’onore [An honor match] and Lezione di musica [Music Lesson], which met with appreciation.
He exhibited at the 1891 Triennial Exhibition of Brera, to much acclaim, having sent the paintings Una vecchia canzone [An Old Song], and Un restauro [A Restoration], which the critics praised.
