Tulip table
The Finnish-born American architect and designer Eero Saarinen (1910-1961) created a technically and aesthetically innovative and highly successful piece of furniture in the form of the table and chair/armchair model called Tulip.
Ingeniously using all the properties of plastic, he designed a curved monocoque with harmonious shapes.
The shell supported by a solid central cast aluminium base, covered with a plastic paint of the same colour, gives the Tulip tables and armchairs a design that is at once ultra-modern, harmonious and solid.
